The Fuf bean bag Chair (Foof Chair) was created over a decade ago.  It is the first ... the original ... urethane foam-filled bean bag chair, for which Comfort Research holds the patent.  The original Fuf Chair is now known as the Large Fuf bean bag Chair.  Over the years, additional sizes have been added to the line-up, as well a number of other products that provide durable, affordable, comfortable casual seating.  All Fuf products are made in the U. S. A.

How is a Fuf Chair different from a traditional bean bag chair?

There are several features that distinguish a Fuf Chair:

  • each is made to order ... you choose the size and color / fabric
  • the use of urethane foam fill, which is more durable and supportive than polystyrene beans
  • outer covers made of quality fabrics that are wear-resistant and stain-resistant
  • superior workmanship that is backed by a One Year Warranty against manufacturing defects
  • made in the U. S. A.

 

Why is urethane foam fill better?

Urethane foam is the same material that is used by manufacturers of fine sofa cushions.  Comfort Research uses what is actually a piece of farm equipment ... a hammermill ... to cut up the big pieces of foam into smaller chunks.  Urethane foam filler is better because:

  • when you sit in a Fuf Chair, you are engulfed by a soothing cushion of foam
  • urethane foam never breaks down, unlike polystyrene beans that need to be replaced
  • this fill can be Re-Foofed again and again, providing individualized seating for everyone
  • it is quiet ... there is no rustling noise as you change positions
  • there are no hard edges or pressure points, so it is comfortable for anyone with special needs
  • the support that urethane foam provides is substantial ... a big man does not "bottom out".

 

Why are the outer covers made of fabric, not vinyl?

Fuf products are available in quality upholstery grade fabrics.  Fabric outer covers offer numerous advantages over vinyl:

  • fabric is supple and comfortable all year long ... vinyl is hot in the summer and cold in the winter
  • these fabrics are durable, stain-resistant and easily spot-cleaned.

 

How do I match my room decor?

Despite our best efforts to represent the various fabric colors as true to color as possible, the reality is that all computer monitors render shades of color differently.  Therefore, at One Purple Frog, we are happy to provide samples of the fabrics and colors that are available for Fuf products.  Simply contact us (call:  269-659-2900 ) and provide your name, complete address, and the name of the fabric colors you are interested in.  Please limit your request to a maximum of four samples.  The requested samples will be mailed to you by the next business day ... free-of-charge, of course.

 

Are Fuf products safe for kids?

Absolutely!  The fabric used is a quality microsuede, which is supple and comfortable no matter the season.  All seams are double-stitched for strength and are capable of withstanding appropriate use by the most active child.  There are double zippers, which have had their pull tabs removed for safety, keeping curious minds and mischievous fingers from making a big mess.  Not only are they safe ... kids love Fuf products!

 

How long does it take for a Fuf to be shipped?

Because each Fuf product is made to order, you get to choose the size and the color of the fabric.  As a result, shipment occurs within 5 to 10 business days after the order is received.  If you have a "special date deadline", such as a birthday, be sure to call us at 269 - 659 - 2900 for a confirmation of our ability to get the product delivered in time for that special day.  The following map provides an estimate of how long it takes for UPS to make the delivery.  Please keep in mind that UPS does not deliver on Saturday, Sunday or holidays.

How are Fuf product shipped?

The urethane foam fill of Fuf products allows them to be vacuum-packed for shipping.  For ease of handling, they are shipped in boxes that are one-half to one-third the size of the actual product.  Shipment is made via United Parcel Service, Ground Service, within the contiguous 48 United States.  The size and weight of the product makes shipping to Alaska and Hawaii cost prohibitive.

What is the difference between a Fuf Chair and a Love Sac?

The Love Sac was patterned after the Fuf Chair.  Love Sac also uses fine quality fabrics and urethane foam fill; but Comfort Research is the originator of the design and holds the patent thereto.  In addition, Comfort Research has gone on to expand their product line to include a greater variety of other styles of affordable casual seating.  However, the biggest difference you will find is in the pricing. Depending on where you shop, a Love Sac will cost as much as twice the price of the comparable size Fuf Chair.

 

How are Poof Chairs different from Fuf Chairs?

Originally, Comfort Research named their unique bean bag style chair "Poof Chair".  However, a number of years ago, the company changed the name from "Poof" to "Foof".  To this day, there are some dealers who still use the name "Poof Chair".  And, just recently, the name was changed again to "Fuf" (still pronounced "foof").  In any case, if the dealer states that the item is made by Comfort Research, then it is the same product.  However, BEWARE ... especially with online auction sales ... there are unscrupulous people who will take advantage of the fine reputation of Fuf products.  Ask questions.  Make sure you know what you are buying.
